Many of you have told me over the past few weeks how excited you are about Uncut's mission, and rest assured, we share your enthusiasm for propelling podcasts onto the blockchain. Like you, we think it's time for podcasters to free themselves from the dictates of existing platforms, reclaim their production and share the value of their creation with their audience.
In the meantime, you’ve also asked me when the product will be ready and when you’ll be able to use it. The Uncut team is working hard on it, and the MVP is almost ready, but I might disappoint you.
I don't think you will be able to use it anytime soon.
In fact, our goal is not to finish a product fast, have a big launch and pray that users adopt it and do something with it. At the risk of surprising you, our priority right now is to develop a community of podcasters and focus on turning their podcast into a more decentralized digital property. Building relationships with these podcasters is much more important than building our product. This is why, we are organizing the Uncut team around this objective and have decided to build our product with a handful of carefully selected podcasters.
Actually, Alexis Ohanian even talk about the necessity in Web3 of building a Minimum Viable Community before building your Minimum Viable Product.

Some may argue that getting a critical mass of users right from the start is the only way to get results. At Uncut, we believe that going community-first allows you to include the right audience in the development of your product and to receive greater attention upon release.
We want the members of our community to be proud that they helped with Uncut’s development. In return, we want to accompany them in their evolution toward web3, and for them to know we are here for them.
Starting today, we are accepting Web3 Podcasters in Residence at Uncut!
We are actively looking for accomplished podcasters that we are willing to support technically and creatively. Podcasters in Residence at Uncut will gain early access to our Web3 podcasting platform and will be able to discuss with other like-minded podcasters, share their passion for podcasting, and contribute to the future direction of Uncut. We are also offering our PIR unique web3 production and editing services to allow them to turn their podcasts into unprecedented digital assets that their listeners can own and trade.
We want to reinvent with them the way we listen and engage with podcasts and we strongly believe NFTs and Cryptos are great tools to reclaim the amazing content they produce daily. Internet has allowed us to create whatever we want, and everyone can find whatever they’re interested in. But most of the value created has bypassed the creators landing instead in the pockets of the platforms that aggregate it. It's time for change!
We are already talking with phenomenal podcasters with incredible projects that will change podcasting for ever.
Few examples:
One is planning on doing a road trip to document environmental problems in the world. Each episodes will uncover new places he is visiting and will propose listeners to purchase specific NFT moments of his podcast. The gains from those NFT's will be donated to environmental organizations.
Another plans to create a podcast-opera in 3 movements. He will produce the first one himself and offer listeners to own different moments of it through NFTs. The proceeds will be used to produce the next movements, so it will be a collective work owned by the community.
Another one wants to turn his entire podcast catalogue into NFT Moments and allow token holders to access a DAO where they will be able to participate and vote for future episodes.
Others want to monetize specific moments in their podcast to their audience in the form of NFTs to allow them to add visuals and personalized messages throughout their content. Etc…
The possibility are endless and we have some very exciting things in the works for 2022. We can’t wait to hear from your own ideas!!
