How to Price AI-generated Assets?
Drawing Inspiration from Apple Music, How a Tiered System Could Revolutionize AI-Generated Asset Valuation
Hey Uncut fam! 🚀
If there's one thing you've probably noticed about me, it's that my mind never stops churning ideas for Uncut – especially on weekends. Our recent discussions, especially the one led by @Aloeidae on our Discord, got me reflecting on a significant challenge we face: pricing AI-generated assets.
In this new and dynamic space, determining the right value for our creations is more of an art than a science. Yet, the worth and potential of our work are undeniable. As a collector on Uncut, every addition to my collection is both a personal treasure and a nod to the brilliant creators behind each piece.
However, as much as I'd love to, there have been moments I've hesitated to add a remarkable asset to my collection due to its steep price. This observation sparked an idea: What if we embraced a standardized pricing model, akin to what Apple did with Apple Music? Remember when every song, whether by a global sensation or a new indie artist, was priced uniformly at $0.99?
Envision Uncut adopting a similar, tiered approach:
New User: Begin your journey by minting free assets. As you achieve a specific number of claims, you rise to the rank of a Verified Artist.
Verified Artist: Besides the free assets, you can now also mint paid ones, all priced at a universal rate of $0.99. You also get the autonomy to decide your supply quantity. Upon hitting a designated sales milestone, you progress to the Pro Artist level.
Pro Artist: This tier allows you the freedom to introduce unique, high-value assets, with pricing determined at your discretion. These assets have a distinct showcase on Uncut, emphasizing their premium nature.
It's a model that might offer clarity, fairness, and incentive for artists at every stage of their Uncut journey. What do you think? I'm eager to hear your insights, opinions, and feedback.
