I don't know it it's the idea, but I always think smart contract was the best way to replace or augment rss distribution

Very interesting idea. For now, we won't replace the RSS distribution model (for now...). Uncut is not a hosting platform and you can divide your episodes into memorable and tradable moments right from your RSS feed.

i worked for majelan, and some content owners were not happy where their rss feeds (untouched and not monetized by us like a lot of podcast app) and i understood that the rights around rss are fuzzy at best. and when you have a public and a private rss feeds it's a mess to monetize and keep access (see Apple, Spotify). RSS is web1. I am sure smart contract is part of a more globalize solution of decentralized right management (I have a lot of discussion with Mihai from https://info.watchbeem.com/ not for RSS but for videos. Newsletters are too (and i am working now on newsletters).

Personally, I don't believe in content monetization, nor in subscriptions and private RSS feeds. It's too Web2 :-) Content should remains free and accessible but ownership can be shared and exchanged (NFTs). It also allows you to turn your "owners" (not users) into advocates. Also, doing that at a moment level vs episode allows you to not give away the entire ownership but just a piece of it.

More info on these moments thing here: https://uncutfm.substack.com/p/new-direction-november-a-sneak-peak
